Rochester Knighthawks at New York Titans
Friday, 7:30 PM - Madison Square Garden

Casey Powell scored the final three goals, including the game-winner 2:16 into overtime, as the Titans edged the Knighthawks, 11-10.

New York (11-6, 1-0) led 6-5 at halftime but surrendered all three goals scored in the third, including an unassisted goal by Shawn Evans that completed his hat trick.

Rochester (7-10, 0-1) went ahead by three, 10-7, early in the fourth quarter, but a Patrick Merrill goal midway through the period brought back the home crowd's optimism.

Powell then scored twice to tie the game, the latter goal coming with just 17 seconds left in regulation. That set up Powell to complete the natural hat trick in overtime.

Powell finished as the game's top scorer, netting eight points on four goals and four assists. Shawn Williams paced the Knighthawks, tallying a goal and five assists.

New York advances to the Eastern Division final, which it will host next weekend against the winner of the Boston-Buffalo game.

San Jose Stealth at Portland LumberJax
Friday, 10:30 PM - Rose Garden
Inside: Game Stats | Discuss the Game

Rhys Duch scored three third-quarter goals, helping the Stealth to a 20-16 victory over the LumberJax.

After a tight first ten minutes of play, San Jose (8-9, 1-0) began to build a lead late in the first quarter, as Jeff Zywicki and Tim Johnson each scored in the final four minutes for a 6-4 Stealth lead.

The Stealth put up another five goals in the second quarter, for an 11-7 halftime lead, then dropped seven more on Portland (9-8, 0-1) in the third quarter for an 18-11 lead.

It wasn't until goals by Peter Morgan (late in the third quarter) and Dan Stroup (in the fourth) that the LumberJax could produce consecutive goals.

By this point, a rally was not likely in the cards, and indeed, the Stealth managed to keep Portland from getting closer than six goals until less than five minutes remained in the game.

San Jose's Colin Doyle (2 goals, 7 assists) finished with nine points, leading all scorers. Brodie Merrill and Derek Malawsky tallied seven points apiece, each getting two goals and five assists.

The Stealth will play in the Western Division final next weekend, either hosting Colorado or playing at Calgary.

Boston Blazers at Buffalo Bandits
Saturday, 7:30 PM - HSBC Arena
Inside: Game Stats | Discuss the Game

Mark Steenhuis scored four goals, leading the Bandits to an 11-8 victory over the Blazers.

Stenhuis scored twice in the first quarter, helping Buffalo (11-6, 1-0) to an early 4-1 lead. The Blazers rallied, though, tying the game at 4-4 before Sean Greenhalgh put the Bandits back in front with under two seconds to play in the period.

Boston (10-7, 0-1) rallied to tie the game, 6-6, midway through the second quarter, but Mike Accursi restored the one-goal lead three minutes before intermission.

Tied 7-7 after three quarter, Buffalo took control in the fourth -- Tavares and Steenhuis scored early, Steenhuis scored again at mid-quarter, and Thomas Montour added an empty-netter in the closing seconds.

Boston teammates Daryl Veltman (3 goals, 4 assists) and Dan Dawson (7 assists) tied for the game high in points, seven, while Tavares paced Buffalo with six (2 goals, 4 assists).

The Bandits will play at New York next Saturday for a spot in the NLL Championship Game; the game is slated for 7:30 PM Eastern at the Prudential Center in Newark.

Colorado Mammoth at Calgary Roughnecks
Sunday, 5:00 PM - Saddledome
Inside: Game Stats | Discuss the Game

Dane Dobbie and Tracey Kelusky recorded hat tricks as the Roughnecks routed the Mammoth, 15-8.

Colorado (7-10, 0-1) kept pace for much of the first quarter, but late-period goals by Nolan Heavenor and Curt Malawsky pushed the Roughnecks out to a 6-3 lead.

That was just the start of a long run, though, as Calgary (13-4, 1-0) fired off all four goals of the second quarter -- two by Josh Sanderson -- for a 10-3 advantage at halftime.

Chris Gill and Matt Leveque scored early in the third quarter for the Mammoth before the Roughnecks fired off four of the next five goals to put the game away.

Dobbie posted three goals and four assists to lead all scorers. Gavin Prout had two goals and three assists for Colorado.

Calgary will now host San Jose in the Western Division final, Saturday night at 7:00 PM Mountain (9:00 PM Eastern).
