Riggers, Stealth tight atop Experts Poll2010's first rankings: Defending champs #1 by a single pointR.A. Philly Outsider's Guide Editor in Chief The Washington Stealth has opened the 2010 season with two impressive victories. The Calgary Roughnecks -- well, it's been a bit more of a struggle. No mind to the defending champs, who appear to be getting the benefit of the doubt in the first Lacrosse-Network.com Experts Poll of 2010. Calgary outpolled Washington by a single point, 67-66, and a single first-place vote, 3-2, despite having split an early home-and-home series with Minnesota while the Stealth racked up blowout wins over Colorado and Edmonton. Following closely are three Eastern Division unbeatens -- Rochester (63 points, one first-place vote), Orlando (61 points, one first-place vote) and Toronto (55 points). From there, it's a plunge to sixth-place Minnesota (36 points), which finished just ahead of Philadelphia (34). Buffalo, a surprising 0-2 on the young season, drew 30 points to rank eighth. Just about the only thing the Experts agreed on this week is that the Colorado Mammoth have been a complete disappintment through two games -- the entire panel ranked the Tusks as the league's worst team. Our panel of seven experts includes a wide range of top lacrosse minds, including Outsider's Guide writers, players, and coaches. Scoring is on an 11-10-9-etc. basis, so that the maximum score a team can earn is 77 points and the minimum is seven points.
